Rebozo Birth Wrap in Traditional Keffiyeh Fabric

Regular price $ 34.95 USD

A rebozo is a long piece of cotton fabric that is used by doulas and partners for labor support. They are also great during postpartum as a nursing cover or baby wrap!

The rebozo originated in Mexican and is the name of the long traditional scarf women use for a variety of purposes, including baby wearing. It's increasingly popular as a non invasive tool for supporting natural labor by reducing discomfort and even helping babies reposition themselves.
In 2018, one of Handmade Palestine's customers custom ordered a rebozo using traditional keffiyeh fabric. A few weeks later, he sent photos of his wife's labor, featuring the rebozo we made. It was amazing, and touching. We're actually using his photos here (so thank you Kevin and Lena!).
These are made from a woven cotton fabric sourced from the only keffiyeh factory in Palestine, Hirbawi in Hebron. We use a local tailor to hem the edges. Each piece measures approximately 2.5m x 75 cm. We are happy to customize the length if you want it a bit longer--just give us enough time!
If you are keen to use the rebozo as a wrap during labor, check out instructions from Spinning Babies.

gift from palestine - international shipping

What if I want to ship to a U.S. address?

You're in luck, our products are actually stored in California, so you're only paying for U.S. domestic shipping. But before that, processing takes a few days on our side before our volunteer in California gets your package to the post office.

Domestic shipping takes 3-5 days depending on shipping destination. Once orders ship, we'll email you a confirmation with tracking (for domestic) or customs (for international) numbers.

It is your responsibility to track and, if necessary, follow up with customs to get your package.

How much does it cost?

Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout based on product weight.

Sometimes your package might incur extra costs at the customs of your country depending on the value and type of items. Please note that we have nothing to do with these costs, and it depends on your country's customs. Nevertheless, we sign the value of the items in your package at cost so you don't pay a higher customs charge. (International orders only)

Where else do we ship to?

We ship via USPS. Shipping is available to most countries, let us know if your country is not included and we will add it :)

Additionally, we offer international shipping* options from Palestine, in case you are interested in a handicraft that isn't available in our online collection or in custom orders.

What happens if I put the wrong shipping address or don't my package out of customs?

No problem! Your item will be sent back to our us, and you will be need to cover shipping cost.

What are the shipping options from Palestine?

Registered Post takes from 10-20 days. Price will be calculated at check out based on weight. Registered post can only be tracked until it leaves the post facility in Occupied Palestine.

Eco-Post takes up to 10 days. Price will be calculated at check out based on weight. This option allows for tracking package until arrival at destination.

EMS (for any orders greater than 2 kilos) takes from up to 10 days. Price will be calculated at check out based on weight.

We ship from Palestine on Sundays and Wednesdays. So orders placed by Saturday or Tuesday are sent out the next day.

Why did I pay more than the amount on the shipping label?

Please know that there are other costs before we get to shipping. When you receive your package, you'll notice that the shipping cost on the box is not the same as what you paid. We have to get items from the cooperatives all over Palestine and then ship to you. Thank you for your order, your patience, and your support!

*some countries are excluded from Palestinian shipping options.
