Ceramic soap dishes made by two women from Nisf Jbeil. These adorable dishes are 100% handmade. They first make the molds, then put the molds in the oven, then they are hand-painted and put in the oven once again.
The patterns drawn on the dishes are inspired by traditional Palestinian patterns, historic events, or by ancient patterns found in fossils.
Nisf Jbeil is a small village to the northwest of Nablus, with a population of 400. The center resides in an old house that was renovated to create a guesthouse along with the ceramic center. Three women work full-time to deliver these artistic crafts using methods used in olden times by Palestinian craftsmen.
