Crafting Handmade Jewelry is popular among many artisans in Palestine. The artisans we currently support craft and sell their Jewelry as a source of income. Silver is the most demanded type of Jewelry in Palestine, meanwhile handmade jewelry is also made from Gold Plates, Olive Wood carved Jewelry, Gold coated Brass, Crochet Jewelry, and Gemstone Jewelry.

Artisans craft varied types of Jewelry including Earrings, Necklaces, Rings, Anklets; suitable for all kinds of occasions. A good fit for a gift for a friend or a girlfriends is the Gypsy Jewelry by the domari society, or beit doqqo brass, while a more thought of gift for your wife or fiance we recommend that you take the handmade sterling silver Jewelry in consideration.

We feature a wide collection of handmade jewelry for women including hand cut brass jewelry made by women in Beit Doqo, just outside of Jerusalem, sterling silver olive leaf jewelry from Zaytouna Jewelry in Bethlehem, as well as Gypsy Jewelry and Bohemian Jewelry by the Domari Society in Jerusalem including crocheted jewelry.

Beit Doqo is a small village where a local cooperative has allowed much of the community, especially women there, to generate income through agricultural, food producing and jewelry making work. The cooperative is a member of Sunbula fair trade in Palestine, which brings the brass plates and trains the women on the work and new designs. Their designs include a collection of Necklaces and Earrings with names of Palestinian cities engraved in such as palestine earrings, Gaza, and Jerusalem. They also craft gemstone/ bohemian style necklaces and earrings.

The sterling silver jewelry is not only exquisite, but also one of a kind. Each leaf is from the cast of an actual Bethlehem olive leaf, and that cast is used only once. The sterling silver is from a local refinery in Hebron. Though other artisans have begun replicating the work of Nadira al Araj, who designs this Silver Zaytouna Jewelry, Nadira’s work stands out for its excellence. Her partners, Samer Kattan and his father, are excellent silversmiths.

The Domari Society of Gypsies in Society make a wide assortment of Handicrafts, they started their journey by making Crochet Earrings, and Gypsy Necklaces, their work is inspired by the colorful culture the gypsies brought with them more than 500 hundred years ago from India.

And while Little Olea, an original line of Handmade Palestine, crafts nursing necklaces, and teething rings for babies from olive wood pruning, ornamented with  colorful crochet beads; they are also are adorable funky jewelry to put wear for a happy day.

All purchases from Handmade in Palestine support fair trade artisans and 100% of the profit is donated to a local not for profit to plant trees and protect Palestine’s environment.
