You’ve seen it. You’ve heard it. You might already be part of it.

There is a moment happening right now of solidarity with Palestinians. One that shouldn’t just be a passing trend.

Macklemore using his voice in support of Palestine and then being removed from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour is horrendous.

Standing in solidarity, and being more like Macklemore, means redirecting again and again and again to Palestinians and their suffering, and to the history of brutal colonialism, settler violence, occupation and displacement that Palestinians have lived through for for almost 80 years!

More and more artists continue to support Palestine and are using their voices onstage against the ongoing suffering of Palestinians and the devastating situation in Gaza.

To not take a side is taking a side. The side of humanity is the one any decent human should be on. Not the side of colonialism and imperialism, power and greed and money, or the idea that one state or country can occupy another and deny its people their basic rights and freedom.

1. Donate to charitable organizations. These are some of the groups working on the ground including Middle East Children’s Alliance, UNRWA, and the The Sameer Project, a grassroots organisation in Gaza.

3. Write to your Congressman. Make your voice heard.
   
4. Join civil disobedience. Find peaceful actions happening around you and get involved. 
5. Boycott, boycott, boycott. You know what you need to do.
