Two New Shawls, Made by Hand in Palestine

There are some pieces that stay with you.

Not because they are loud or elaborate, but because of the hands behind them — the time they took, the stories they carry, and the quiet beauty of something made slowly.

We have two new shawls to share, and each one feels a little different. ⁠

The first is a beautiful beige shawl with green Palestinian tatreez. The intrictate and delicate design runs along the edges of the shawl in bands of traditional tatreez, with small geometric motifs repeated carefully across the fabric. ⁠

The second is the sweetest lightweight and sheer lilac shawl with Palestinian tatreez made of soft lilac fabric with small touches of colorful embroidery.

What makes both of these pieces meaningful is the Tatreez embroidery was made by hand by Palestinian women - women stitching patterns that hold memory, place, and identity.

And maybe that is what we love most about these pieces.

They remind us that heritage doesn’t have to live only in the past. It can be something you hold. Something you wear. Something made today, by a woman in Palestine, using a form of embroidery her community has known for generations.

Tatreez takes patience. One stitch follows another, and slowly, a pattern appears. The small details are part of what makes it beautiful — not just the finished design, but the hours of work held within it. We are grateful to the women who continue to make these pieces — keeping their craft alive, creating work with their hands, and sharing a small part of Palestine with the world.
