The Olive Harvest Is Around the Corner: Join Us or Adopt an Olive Tree

There’s something special about olive harvest season in Palestine.

As summer begins to fade and the hills around Ramallah take on the golden light of autumn, we start looking forward to one of our favourite times of year: gathering around the olive trees, spreading out the tarps, climbing ladders, and harvesting the olives that have been growing quietly through the seasons.

This November, we’ll be harvesting at Mashjar Juthour, our arboretum in the hills of Ramallah — and we’d love for you to join us.

Come harvest with us

For the first two weeks of November, we’re opening our doors (and our land) to volunteers who want to get their hands dirty and experience olive harvest season with us.

You can come for a day, or stay longer and camp on the land. There’s always something to do: picking olives, moving tarps, sorting the harvest, sharing meals, making coffee, and helping with all the little jobs that make the harvest happen.

And while the first two weeks of November are when we’ll especially need extra hands, we can always use help before and after the main harvest, too.

If you’re interested in volunteering at Mashjar Juthour, and being part of the harvest, send us an email at info@handmadepalestine.com and we’ll tell you more.

Can’t make it to Palestine? Adopt a tree.

We know that not everyone can make the journey to Mashjar Juthour this November. But there are still ways to take part.

You can plant or adopt an olive tree at Mashjar Juthour.

An olive tree is more than a tree. It is a connection to land, to family, to food, and to generations of care.

At Mashjar Juthour, we’re working to protect and grow native trees and create a living space where people can reconnect with the land and with one another. When you support a tree, you’re helping us care for the land and continue growing the arboretum — one tree at a time.

Whether you join us under the olive trees this November, adopt a tree from afar, or simply share the invitation with someone who might want to come, thank you for being part of Mashjar Juthour.
