Handcrafted Jewelry from Palestine

Palestinian jewelry is rooted in one of the oldest goldsmithing and silversmithing traditions in the Middle East. For centuries, Palestinian artisans crafted intricate pieces that reflected the landscape, faith and daily life of their communities — olive branches in silver, maps in brass, the geometry of Islamic architecture rendered in mosaic. These were not luxury goods. They were part of life, passed between generations as inheritance, worn at celebrations, carried into exile.

The collection at Handmade Palestine brings together four distinct Palestinian jewelry traditions. Our sterling silver olive leaf pieces are made by the silversmiths at Zaytouna Jewelry, working in a craft that has been practised for generations in Palestinian workshops. The olive leaf — Palestine's most enduring symbol — is rendered here in delicate, wearable form: rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

Our micro mosaic jewelry represents one of the most technically demanding crafts in the collection. Originating in Byzantine and Roman traditions, micro mosaic work was adopted by Palestinian artisans in Bethlehem and Jerusalem, who filled intricate patterns with tiny tesserae of stone and glass. Each piece is a miniature artwork.

Our heritage brass and calligraphy range draws on a different tradition — bold, graphic work that incorporates Arabic script, the map of Palestine, and motifs drawn from Islamic geometric art.

We also carry keffiyeh-pattern brass necklaces and earrings that fuse the two most iconic symbols of Palestinian culture into a single piece.

Every piece of jewelry in this collection is made by a Palestinian artisan — skilled hands sustaining ancient crafts under conditions that make that work an act of perseverance. When you wear Palestinian jewelry, you carry that story.
