Happy Eid in Difficult Times

Eid is meant to arrive gently — with shared meals, family, laughter, and light.

But for many this year, it does not.

In Gaza, South Lebanon, and Tehran, what should be a time of joy is overshadowed by loss and devastation. Homes are gone, families are grieving, and daily life is marked by uncertainty and pain. In Gaza especially, the weight of this reality is impossible to ignore.

And yet, even there, Eid still arrives.

In whispered prayers. In the sharing of what little there is. In the quiet determination to hold onto tradition, even in the darkest moments.

This is what we honor today — not just celebration, but resilience. Not just joy, but the strength to keep it alive.

At Handmade Palestine, we stand with those marking Eid under unimaginable circumstances. We hold space for their grief, their courage, and their humanity.

Wherever you are, may you find moments of light. May you hold your loved ones close. And may we all be reminded of our shared responsibility to see, to care, and to act with compassion.

Eid Mubarak.
