Stories and Recipes for Your Ramadan Gift Box from Palestine
Ramadan is a holy month of reflection, generosity, and community.
In Palestine, it is marked by family gatherings, shared meals, and traditions passed down through generations.
At Handmade Palestine, we honor this spirit by working directly with artisans and small businesses across the country to sustain livelihoods and celebrate Palestinian culture.
Our Ramadan Gift Box supports 23 different artisans and family-run businesses in Palestine. It is a meaningful way to contribute to the Palestinian economy while sharing the tastes, crafts, and traditions that make Ramadan so special.
What’s inside our Ramadan Gift Box?
- Chocolate-Covered Medjool Dates - From a family farm in Auja, near Jericho, these Medjool dates are stuffed with Palestinian almonds and dipped in rich chocolate. Yum!
- Palestinian Carob Chips - Carob has long been used to make a traditional Ramadan drink. Although carob trees once grew wild across Palestine, they have largely disappeared from the landscape. We are proud to bring you Palestinian carob this Ramadan. Follow our brewing recipe on the blog, or use the chips to make carob molasses if you prefer.

- Baladí Sumac - “Baladi” literally means “of my country” and is used to describe local, heirloom foods. This sumac is harvested from wild trees in Beit Duqo by a family who hand-crushes the berries into this vibrant spice. Perfect for fattoush at iftar—find our recipe on the blog.

- 7 Spice Blend (150g) - A classic Palestinian spice mix prepared by Saleh Khalaf. Recipe inspiration available on our blog.
