What’s in Bloom

So much of what we see and read about Palestine is shaped by violence. It’s heavy, and it’s real—but it can also flatten how people imagine the place itself. Palestine is not only a headline. It’s a landscape. It’s seasons. It’s people who have known and cared for that land for generations.

At Handmade Palestine, we try to hold onto that fuller picture. To keep telling stories that are rooted in culture, craft, and everyday beauty. Because Palestinian heritage doesn’t exist separately from the land—it comes from it.

The patterns in embroidery, the textures in olive wood, the colours that show up again and again in handmade pieces—they all trace back to the land. To what grows, what blooms, what’s been walked and worked on for centuries. That relationship is old, sacred, and still very present.

Recently, we’ve been thinking a lot about the hills just outside Ramallah, where the nonprofit Mashjar Juthour is doing quiet, important work. They’re restoring native plants, planting trees, and creating space for people—especially younger generations—to reconnect with the land in a real, hands-on way.

In spring, those hills come alive. Wildflowers push through in soft purples, bright yellows, deep greens, and pinks. Nothing dramatic—just steady, seasonal beauty doing what it’s always done. It feels grounding to witness, and even more so knowing there are people actively caring for that cycle.

We pulled together a small collection inspired by that feeling—by wildflowers, by growth, by the simple act of paying attention to what’s around us. You can explore it here:

  • Palestinian Wildflowers Greeting Cards (yellow, green, purples)
  • Wildflowers Notecards (pink set)
  • Wildflowers Gift Card
  • Wildflower Pocket Guide
  • Memory Matching Cards

For us, this is what it means to stay connected—to keep noticing what’s in bloom, and to keep sharing it.

Because that story matters too.
