Wildflowers of Palestine botanical art series features Palestine's beautiful wildflowers in watercolor.*  Painted by Botanical Artist Lois Nakhleh, the Orchis papilionacea (Pink Butterfly Orchid) shows the varying colors of this protected wildflower.

The Orchis papilionacea is perhaps the most common wild orchid seen in the hills of Palestine. It, like all wild orchids in Palestine, is endangered and protected.

About the artisan:

Joan Musgrave studied art at Belfast College of Art and Hornsea College of Art, London. She lived in Zambia for 13 years and worked on projects for the Livingstone Museum and the Wildlife Conservation Society of Zambia. She came to live in Jerusalem in 2000, where she shared in an art group and met Lois Nakhleh. Together they worked to produce the Palestinian wildflower calendars.

Did you know we donate the profit of your purchase to Mashjar Juthour, a great eco-initiative in Palestine that plants trees and protects Palestinian natural heritage! Plus, everything is purchased fair trade, so together we are helping sustain so many livelihoods in Palestine.
