This gorgeous table runner is full of hand stitched, traditional Palestinian tatreez on stunning Majdalawi, a traditional fabric that is handwoven in Syrian and Gaza on large wooden looms. Today, only the looms in Syria remain and this fabric is imported with great challenges to Palestine. It is extremely difficult to stitch on because it is a heavy, thick material. To this effect, you'll notice where the stitches curve a bit as women have to tug at the material while they embroider. It features a stunning design is vibrant colors for you to use on your table and share Palestinian culture and heritage with guests.

This is handcrafted by Manjel Ma'qoud, a women's embroidery group we formed in January of 2024 in response to the increasing pressure Palestinian women are under due to the ongoing and increasing Israeli closures and suffocation of the Palestinian economy. These designs are only available through Handmade Palestine and through your purchase, we are supporting 80 women and their families.

Dimensions: 162 x 31 cm | 62 x 12.25 in

*Majdalawi is incredibly difficult to work with and this one is particularly thick so the embroidery is not always perfectly straight as women pull and tug at the fabric using marke to embroider. It's part of the beauty of the piece.

All purchases from Handmade Palestine support fair trade artisans sustaining their livelihoods and we donate profits from every purchase to a local not-for-profit to plant trees and protect Palestine’s environment.
