At Handmade Palestine, our mission has always been deeply rooted in supporting local artisans and protecting Palestine’s cultural and natural heritage. What is Dar al-Turath?

Dar al-Turath, meaning "House of Heritage," is a social enterprise that empowers Palestinian women by preserving traditional handicrafts and providing economic opportunities. With embroidery, weaving, and textile arts at increasing risk due to economic and political challenges, Dar al-Turath offers training, resources, and a space for artisans to sell their handmade goods and learn new handicraft skills, ensuring both cultural preservation and financial independence.

It's also about story telling and making sure that the traditional knowledge around crafts and cultural heritage are preserved and passed on for future generations!
