A Special Book for Children: Sitti The Scientist + New Tatreez Shawl!

We have a soft spot for children’s books that do more than tell a story.

Sitti the Scientist, published by Seven Stones, is one of those - an amazing book for children to celebrate Palestinian knowledge and who are always asking questions and wanting to understand the world around them.

Children's Book Sitti the Scientist | Celebrate Palestinian Heritage with English Language Book - Handmade Palestine | Fairly Traded & Handcrafted Gifts

It explores Palestinian heritage, traditions, and indigenous knowledge through science, connecting children with the wisdom found in everyday practices, and the natural world.

Written by Dana R. M. and illustrated by Sara Shehadeh, the book is printed in Palestine, which makes it even more special to us.

When you choose a Palestinian book, you’re not just giving a child something to read. You’re supporting Palestinian creativity, knowledge, and the people who continue to make and share these stories. A lovely gift for a curious mind — and a meaningful way to keep Palestinian stories close.

New Arrival: Ivory Tatreez Shawl

We are so happy to share the newest addition to our scarves and shawls collection. This beautiful and intricate ivory shawl. Every stitch on this ivory shawl was made by hand, by the women of Manjel Ma’qoud, who sew tatreez at home just as it was taught to them.

We started the group in January 2024 because Palestinian women are under growing pressure from Israeli closures and a struggling economy, and steady work has become harder and harder to find. When you wear this shawl, or give it to someone you love, you’re helping keep a living tradition alive and supporting 80 women and their families.

We’re so grateful to share their work with you.
